Sara and I connected right away when she told me two things; she loves Jesus and works for the best chili restaurant alive, Skyline Chili (it’s a Midwestern thing…) haha. Sara and Terry have persevered through a long-distance relationship since they met back in the fall of 2014. Although Terry is from Columbus, GA, he has since been in North Carolina serving in the Marines, while Sara has continued to work back in her hometown, Cincinnati. After meeting each other through an online dating site, Sara was thrilled to join Terry for his Marine Corps Ball later that fall for the official face-to-face meeting – talk about an epic “first” in-person date! Although there was great anticipation leading up to it, when they finally met it felt as though they had always known each other! That’s all it took for them to know this relationship was something special and worth the distance and dedication to pursue. Young military love holds a tender place in my heart as Randall and I had to endure a year long deployment right after our engagement – and this sweet couple is headed into their first. Thankfully they have a wedding to plan and celebration to look forward to throughout it!
This engagement session was so fun to plan and I am so thankful for Sara’s trust in us! Sara had never been to Columbus, GA before and so needless to say she had no idea where she wanted to take pictures. After a lot of brainstorming, we decided to start off this Columbus Botanical Gardens engagement session with a rustic-southern look and then finish it up in this amazing field during sunset. We love it when our couples are adventurous and willing to trust our ideas, even if the field is off a busy street and may or may not have critters crawling through it! haha Here’s to another fantastic (and “destination engagement session”) couple!
