Carol and Stephen’s wedding was an all inclusive event at Edgewood Baptist Church! It started back in 2013 at what started as a sand volleyball game but turned into the beginning of a love story! Carol had just moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and her best friend invited her cousin out – who happened to catch Carol’s eye. His easy going personality, and of course those dimples drew her in, and likewise, Stephen was immediately attracted to Carol’s self-confidence and sweet spirit. Over the course of dating their priorities were focused on the Lord; they enjoyed spending time hiking and having deep conversations, which led to them realizing they were exactly what each other had been looking for in a spouse. They couldn’t be a better fit for each other; they deeply love their family and friends, enjoy outdoor activities, reading a good book together, and breakfast dates. Now they will get to grow old together doing the things they love with the person they treasure!
Their wedding was everything they hoped for, a day where they were surrounded by those they love. The wedding took place at her father’s church, Edgewood Baptist Church, and even more special her father officiated their union! While getting ready, Carol received a very special gift from Stephen – the construction paper rings she had made him as a count down for their wedding, had been secretly written on every day after he took one down. The notes were incredibly thoughtful…”The Notebook” worthy haha.
The reception was full of delicious appetizers, heartfelt decor, and genuine friendships. Bloomwood’s put together absolutely dreamy boutiques and boutonnieres – I have never seen a bouquet compliment a bride so well! Carol’s has a large family, 9 siblings and 19 nieces and nephews (20th on the way), so with kids in mind, they created a kids corner with fun arts and crafts for them to engage in – as well as a photo booth that kids and adults alike could enjoy! They simply put up a chalkboard with their wedding hashtag and had friends and family take pictures at the photobooth with their phones…so 21st century and so fun! Instead of having a heavy meal in the middle of the day, they chose to serve unique and tasty treats. Midtown Coffee House presented absolutely delicious bites for the wedding. They set up different stations around the reception including a yogurt bar with toppings, refreshments with the best coffee in town, and most unique a cereal bar! What a great celebration for a sweet and loved couple!
