As Columbus, GA-based wedding photographers, we have the joy of being very close to Atlanta and thus having the opportunity to photograph there often. In the fall we got to meet this sweet couple, Anna and Sean. As busy as they are with work, traveling the world together, and spending time with friends, they managed to squeeze us in on a chilly fall afternoon. From there it was an instant connection with their love for traveling and each other! This couple simply gets each other. They are so comfortable together and are so evidently best friends.
They met in 2007 at the steel manufacturing plant they were both working at. It was love after Sean, who was the company’s softball captain, approached Anna to tell her of her new position on the team (thanks to the lack of women at the company ;). Thankfully Anna obliged because now they are a making history together! And the proposal plan, you guys, was so dreamy!…they planned a vacation to Punta Cana and Sean’s plan was to propose there. Unfortunately, the ring didn’t arrive in time and so after a few months of hiding it around the apartment (and Anna thankfully not finding it!), she was able to join him on a business trip out to Omaha where he proposed. Although it was not gorgeous Punta Cana weather, rather only 5 degrees, it was none-the-less exactly what Anna wanted, to be his wife!
The Gardens at Great Oaks was such a beautiful place for them to share their life commitment to one another and celebrate with family and friends. It provided a relaxed environment with both indoor and outdoor seating. It was such a gorgeous evening in North Atlanta though, that the outdoor seating was clearly the preference – under both the tents and stars! But I do have to say, I think it was slightly more than the weather that drew people outside – the DJ was amazing!! There wasn’t a moment during the night that the dance floor was empty (or even close to it). And might I add that Anna and Sean’s friends are quite the talented dancers! Anna put a lot of personal touches throughout by having a decor theme of birds, nests, and garden flowers – which holds special memories in her heart with her grandmother. The tables were decorated so tastefully with the decor and I loved how she placed paper fans on the table in lue of plates since they had a buffet style cater. What a wonderful evening!
Anna and Sean, you guys are quite the pair, always willing to love others sacrificially. You will continue to impact the lives of everyone you meet with your sense of humor, genuine concern, and selfless-acts of kindness. Cheers to married life!
