“Our story starts in Auburn.
Woody was working and I was heading into my junior year at Auburn University. For about two years we were both living in Auburn, had a handful of mutual friends, and even attended the same church; but it wasn’t until we were both in Uganda on a mission trip with Cornerstone Church that we met. Funny enough, everyone on my team was adamant about me getting to know Woody and kept telling me how perfect we would be together, I of course denied this. But once we got back to the states and our friendship started to grow I realized that my friends were right. After a few months of talking and getting to know each other he got my number from a mutual friend and called me. I knew he was going to try to ask me out on a date and so I had already worked up a few excuses to “let him down easy”, but in all reality it was just my fears speaking – after all it was going to be my first date I had ever been on! But I am so thankful I said yes. The next two years were filled with so many new things for the both of us as we got to know each other more and walk through life together. We are both able to look back and see how God orchestrated all of it to bring us to where we are now walking together toward marriage and I couldn’t be more excited!”
-Kelsey and Woody
This Leita Thompson engagement session was a blast! When Kelsey told me that Woody proposed at one of their favorite places, on top of Chewacla State Park at an overlook, I knew we needed to incorporate the great outdoors. We soaked in the fall foliage along these wooded trails and enjoyed all that this park has to offer, including a lake that is tucked away inside! After the trails, we ventured to the open fields where we enjoyed the intimate feeling that the tall grass gave…ah I love it! This is also were we got to take some of our favorite ring shots to date – I mean check out those championship rings! These two are so precious and I’m so thankful we were connected with them through our previous bride, Victoria! What a blessing it is to get to know such a Godly couple who steadfastly love each other like Christ loves His Church!
