the wedding: Sweet Home Plantation
Sweet Home Plantation, just outside of Columbus, GA, could not have been a better place for Lauren and Ricky to commit their lives to each other and celebrate their love. It had such a charming and intimate atmosphere for their closest family and friends to gather at- not mention, their fur-baby, Abigail, sure didn’t mind having the space to roam! Lauren and Ricky met back in January of 2012, under (what I would call) providential circumstances. Lauren was supposed to go on a blind date one evening and after having a bad feeling about it, she decided to cancel it and in lue called her friend to go out to eat with her. Well, to her blessed self, he brought along his friend…Ricky. Needless to say, they hit it off that night and so their love story. After a weekend of literally below freezing camping (an unexpected blessing ;), the quiet subtle gestures around the late-night campfire assured Lauren that this was the man she couldn’t live without. Lauren says it’s things like Ricky’s honesty with her, the way he misses her even when she just runs to the store, and the feeling of his protection in her life that draws her to him more and more every day. Ricky appreciates Lauren’s willingness (even if it’s with some convincing haha) to try new things, especially one of his passions – aggressive skating.
Now their wedding day you guys, was Pinterest through and through! This Sweet Home Plantation wedding had SO many personal touches throughout that included a lot of vintage inspirational pieces and family heirlooms. She had pieces of fabric from her 2 late grandfathers clothing sown into her wedding gown in the shape of hearts, over her own…she had a family six pence to wear in her shoe…generational photographs of family marriages…and her note-worthy delicate veil in her hair, absolutely lovely! Her flowers were so elegant and timeless as well, beautifully created and fitted for the day by Bloomwoods Flowers. And talk about their unique favors, which included; a tiny leaf shaped bottle of maple syrup, personal note to their guests, flower seeds, a vintage key bottle opener, and a table of homemade dessert goodies…isn’t that the sweetest?! But sweeter than the tasty food and treats, was the love this family shared…it had me (and Randall!) tearing up throughout the day from the first look Lauren shared with her Daddy to the trio father-daughter(s) dance to even the strong bond these friends share…trust me, you will see as you scroll through.
Thanks for honoring us with being a part of your most precious day – cheers to you Lauren and Ricky – and warmest wishes of joy to the decades to come as you build your home, family, and love!
